Traditions. Events. Life. Family. Friends. Celebrations.
MSGH has a wealth of traditions and events that bring our community of families and alumni together.
We appreciate that family is the most important thing to young children, and since they are happiest when they are surrounded by their loved ones and thus eager to bring them into their school lives, we include extended family in all social activities we offer. We believe a child’s learning experience is strengthened with culture and diversity. Everyone is welcome at MSGH.
This event offers the community a chance to safely and virtually speak to our teachers and receive first hand information about our classrooms, our community and staff. Learn what makes MSGH such a special community. Experience one of our Virtual Open House with our Director of Admissions, Toko Odorczuk.
Happy 50th Earth Day
"The land is where our roots are. The children must be taught to feel and live in harmony with the Earth." - Maria Montessori
Each of our program levels incorporates caring for the outdoor environments in a variety of ways that enrich our children's lives. To better our planet, we have taken large strides as a community and school to be Green. One of our Adolescent students reported the importance of lowering the heat and now we have lowered the school's heat. We turn off all our lights when we are not in session. We have stopped purchasing plastic cups. We compost and recycle in each of our classrooms!
Please watch our special Earth Day video here.
New Parent Welcome Picnic
This event is run by our Family Association to welcome new families to MSGH before school officially starts.
One of MSGH’s signature traditions. New parents and returning families come together for our annual back-to-school potluck.
Elementary Mystery History Day
Parents are invited into the classroom as children open the doors to their “museum of historic figures.” A fun day for all as history is brought alive.
Parent Information Nights
This popular teacher-led series serves a dual purpose: to support and strengthen parenting skills and to deepen parent understanding of Montessori philosophy and curriculum. More information is available here.
Come See My School
For Primary and Elementary Parents
This event provides an opportunity for parents to get a better understanding of their child’s work and independence in the classroom. Take a look at our gallery from this year's event, here!
This celebration is held on the last day of school before the December break and is one of our community's favorites. If you want to get a one-shot dose of the MSGH school culture, this is the event to attend. This is also a favorite among extended family and friends. Take a look at our gallery of video and images from this year's Winter Celebration, here.
Bushnell Park Carousel Party
Since the founding of our school almost 50 years ago, MSGH has held an evening picnic in Bushnell Park. Old friends return and new friends join us for one of the school’s favorite traditions.
This event honors the students who are graduating from our Adolescent Program and recognizes Primary through Elementary students who are moving on to their next level. For more information, please click here.
