Nancy Rivera

Spanish Teacher

“It is a gift to see the children each day and to watch them grow. I love sharing Spanish with them, and the most rewarding part of my work is seeing their smiles and their joy.”

Originally from the Dominican Republic, Nancy earned her Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Sociology from the Universidad de Santa Domingo.

Nancy joined the MSGH team in 2001 as a substitute while her son attended MSGH.  She soon moved into the Assistant position in the Primary Two classroom with Kathy Aldridge. After two years, she was asked to train as an AMI Primary Guide with the hopes that she could fill the role of MSGH’s first full-time Spanish teacher when our Spanish program launched. In 2006, Señora Rivera began presenting Montessori materials in Spanish to all of our students. Our dual-language program has since evolved to include both an English and Spanish speaking adult in all classrooms. Nancy continues to oversee this program, as a full-time Spanish Guide where she expands the students reading and writing skills, both in the classroom and as they explore the Spanish community while engaging in community service.

In her free time, she enjoys relaxing at a beach or in nature. Above all, however, she enjoys time spent with her family.
