Kimberly Palmer Davis
Floating Classroom Support
"Seeing children blossom as likeness to the butterfly, as Maria Montessori described it is absolutely fulfilling. Montessorians are fortunate to watch the transformative development and the actual power of humanity, as we see our children become empowered to prevail. In my view, it doesn’t get much greater than that!"
“The child’s instinct confirms the fact that work is an inherent tendency in human nature; it is the characteristic instinct of the human race” Dr. Maria Montessori “The Secret of Childhood”.
Kimberly believes she made a profound career change after working over twenty plus years in the corporate sector and non-profit agency. Kimberly has always had a strong passion for teaching as she taught locally by volunteering for the Literacy Volunteers of Greater Hartford and teaching at her family church fellowship.
In 2017, Kimberly worked as an interim for a local Montessori School in Hartford, Connecticut, as a teacher’s assistant; it was there when she began to aspire to train in Montessori studies and pedagogy. Kimberly was quite intrigued by the engagement of children during activities throughout the school day; the strong sense of freedom, the diversity and community among children, as she observed them in the classroom was compelling, to say the least. Kimberly was delighted to learn more about becoming certified in AMI training, especially as she studied Primary Montessori Education and grew an even deeper interest in the pristine quality of education, yet very practical way in which children learn in the “Children’s House.” The rest is history.
Kimberly holds an Associates in Arts degree from Capital Community College, and a bachelor’s degree in University Studies, with a concentration in Early childhood Education, from the University of Hartford. She also received her Primary Montessori training through the Montessori Training Center Northeast, in Hartford, Connecticut.
In her spare time, Kimberly enjoys spending quality time with her two daughters and large family, especially 5-year-old grandson. She loves fitness, cycling, outings, sports, cooking, dancing, decorating/organizing, reading, writing, and word power - while playing Scrabble Challenge online with people from all walks of life.
